Nice to meet ya

We didn’t try to be anything else aside from a place we’d want to hang out in ourselves. We’re a Vancouver dive, and the vibe is friendly and chill. Our walls are covered in rock band and horror posters, thrift shop finds, and artwork contributed by rad local artists. We live for music, and we’re always spinning rock n roll, metal, stoner rock, classic country, and Vancouver favourites like 3 Inches of Blood, Bison, and Black Wizard.

Our food n drinks

We are open for dinner and late night snacks. Our menu is homemade comfort food with a trashy twist. We specialize in slow cooked meats and insanely huge nachos, plus we’ve got some of Vancouver’s best drink prices. You gotta try our hot sauce too! It’s called Happy Pappy and is made in house by our chef, Jeff.

Everyone’s welcome

Jackalope’s is a safe space where everyone who walks through the door is welcome. We do not tolerate sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body shaming, xenophobia, discrimination, or harassment. Any individual or party who doesn’t follow that simple rule will be asked to leave. Basically be cool or get out.

Kristy Lynn Clark

Owner & Operator

The classic tale of small town island girl turned big city entrepreneur, Kristy opened Jackalopes to promote her love of heavy metal music and community togetherness. In addition to Jackalopes, she co-owns Long Live Cats and Dogs and Black Rider Tattoo, and is a founding member of Neuterhead: Ace of Spays. She lives in North Burnaby with her senior rescue chihuahua, Boss Lady Doris. Kristy loves gardening, yoga, travelling and has a shocking number of cat tattoos.

Courtney Richards

Bar Manager

Hailing from the mean streets of Nanaimo, Courtney has called East Van home for the past 12 years. While definitely not a mixologist, she can pour a pint with the best of them. She is a certified vehicle hoarder, constantly loses her phone, loves babies and will ask to hold yours, and lives in a 1970s dream home with her cat Satan.

Jeffrey Mickleson

A Northern BC ex-logger turned macaroni cook, Jeff is the big daddy of Jackalopes. He is a true family man and a lifelong mini van aficionado. In his spare time Jeff likes to play disc golf and pick mushrooms. He is also the dungeon master of a 6 year old girls dungeons and dragons campaign, and wears one feather earring.
