Nice to meet ya

We didn’t try to be anything else aside from a place we’d want to hang out in ourselves. We’re a Vancouver dive, and the vibe is friendly and chill. Our walls are covered in rock band and horror posters, thrift shop finds, and artwork contributed by rad local artists. We live for music, and we’re always spinning rock n roll, metal, stoner rock, classic country, and Vancouver favourites like 3 Inches of Blood, Bison, and Black Wizard.

Our food n drinks

We are open for dinner and late night snacks. Our menu is homemade comfort food with a trashy twist. We specialize in slow cooked meats and insanely huge nachos, plus we’ve got some of Vancouver’s best drink prices. You gotta try our house hot sauce too!

Everyone’s welcome

Jackalope’s is a safe space where everyone who walks through the door is welcome. We do not tolerate sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, body shaming, xenophobia, discrimination, or harassment. Any individual or party who doesn’t follow that simple rule will be asked to leave. Basically be cool or get out.

Courtney Richards

Owner & Operator

Hailing from the mean streets of Nanaimo, Courtney has called East Van home for the past 12 years. While definitely not a mixologist, she can pour a pint with the best of them. She is a certified vehicle hoarder, constantly loses her phone, loves babies and will ask to hold yours, and lives in a 1970s dream home with her cat Satan.

Jess

Jess Rich

Owner & Operator

Jessica grew up in a town called Clearwater, hour and a half north east of Kamloops on highway 5, cause you’ve never heard of it. She moved to the big smoke over 15 years ago. A little while back she left the world of academia and libraries to buy a metal bar (pretty cool hey mom). Pours a mean whiskey and spills a meaner wine. Lighter thief, cat mom to the geriatric and grouchy Martini, BB gun collector, puzzle aficionado. Definitely the nerdiest and mouthiest of the bunch.

Scott

Scott Patterson

Chef

Originally an Island boy with a background in everything from brunch to casual fine dining. Scott is the newest edition to the cult. Indoctrinated by metal music and pop culture at a young age, he can be found collecting b-movie horror and action flicks, playing drums, nerding out about music, and searching for that perfect pickle. He calls Hastings Sunrise home with his two cats Otis Redding and Tina Turner.
